Tibetan Community Centre

The Tibetan Canadian Cultural Centre (TCCC), Toronto's Tibetan community centre, opened it's doors on October 17, 2007. It's Tibetan name is Ganjong Chondeling, named by His Holiness The Dalai Lama during his visit to Toronto in 2004 when The Dalai Lama was asked to name and give his blessing for the cultural centre. The community centre's main purpose is to preserve the Tibetan culture and traditions for the youth growing up in Toronto and it's surrounding areas and also to have a main gathering place for all the members of the community. The TCCC is located in the South Etobicoke area of Toronto. Some programs offered by the centre are Buddhist Philosophy classes, Tibetan Language classes, Yoga classes, and Tibetan Performing Arts classes. The centre is also a place where the community gathers to commemorate important Tibetan Buddhist events and also celebrate holidays such as new years and the Dalai Lama's birthday. TCCC also rents it's hall for weddings and banquets to the public, whether it be for weddings for birthday parties or any other functions. The centre is also a place for the elders in the community can gather and spend time praying and having a place for everyone their age can gather and spend time. The community centre is run by the Canadian Tibetan Association of Ontario, who's main duties are ensuring the community centre is running and all their affairs are maintained and taken care of.
