Tibetan Cuisine in Toronto

There are a few Tibetan restaurants in Toronto, all of it in Parkdale's Queen Street area, stretching from Lansdowne Ave. all the way west to Roncessvalles Ave. These days Tibetan cuisine is an infusion of Tibetan, Chinese, Indian, and Nepali style all put together in one, influenced by living in those countries after the invasion of Tibet. Traditional dishes are also offered such as Momos (Dumplings) and Thukpa (Soup and Noodles). There are quite a few restaurants that specialize in Tibetan cuisine like Om Restuarant, Himalayan Kitchen, Tibet Kitchen, Tsampa Cafe, and Shangrila Restaurant. These restaurants are enjoyed by the local residents living around the area and has slowly become a destination for people from all over the city. This is a prime example of how the local Tibetan population is starting to boom and flourish in Toronto.
